Philip M. Coffey is the managing director and CEO of OMI Industries, Inc., the driving force behind the strategic and tactical efforts across the entire enterprise. Coffey’s early career included a stint as a food broker at Mid Central Foods before he moved on to more technical fields with Sencon (control and sensor manufacturing) and Ransco (climatic testing equipment and facilities manufacturing).

When Coffey started his own consulting business, OMI Industries was one of his first clients, hiring him to assess market viability. The company’s potential for success and profit was extremely promising, and Coffey – in search of a company of his own – started buying distributorships and vendor agreements, which eventually turned into shares and a majority stake in OMI.

Coffey has received numerous professional and trade industry awards and recognitions, including a seat as “Executive in Residence” at the University of Missouri, and an award for entrepreneurial excellence given by <em>The Daily Herald</em> newspaper (suburban Chicago). A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Coffey has three grown children inking professional successes of their own. He lives in Chicago.

Tim Coffey joined OMI Industries as the Communications Manager in November of 2019, and is responsible for all external and internal organizational messaging, as well as media relations efforts across divisions.

Prior to joining OMI, Tim worked in a variety of communications settings, including agency-side (FTI Consulting, APCO Worldwide), in-house (U.S. Cellular), and non-profit (Horizons for Youth). Specializing in media relations, executive positioning, and crisis management, Tim designed and executed communication plans and campaigns targeting customers, investors, employees, and legislative bodies on behalf of clients in a variety of sectors.

Tim graduated from the University of Missouri in 2012 with a double major in communications and English. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Erin, and daughter.

Thomas J. Kelly has served OMI Industries in the capacity of secretary, treasurer and CFO since 2006. Prior to joining OMI, Kelly spent 13 years with Metal One America, Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi International Corp., where he departed as assistant controller. Kelly’s background in financial management includes time spent with companies such as ServiceMaster LP (manager of financial reporting), U.S. Cellular Corporation (regional accountant, Northeast) and A.C. Nielsen Co. (tax accountant, AP supervisor).

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago (1984) and attained his CPA status in 1987. He is a member of both the Illinois CPA Society and the Society for Human Resource Management. An avid reader and a voracious sports fan, Kelly and his wife of 23 years, Margi, live in Mundelein, IL. They have three children.

As the COO of OMI Industries, Dunklau is responsible for growth and profitability across all three divisions of the company in both domestic and international markets. Dunklau joined OMI in 2006 with prior experience at the In-Store Marketing Institute (1995-2005) in various upper-level capacities, including EVP, CFO and COO. He also spent seven years as VP and GM for STARCON International, handling a variety of business activities for the company.

Dunklau is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business (B.S., Finance, 1984), and received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business in 1994. He served on the board of directors for the Greater Chicago Food Depository from 2001 until 2011, chairing the finance and audit committees, and joined the board of directors for Horizons for Youth in 2014. Dunklau and his wife, Tracy, have two children; they reside in St. Charles, IL.

Laura Haupert, Ph.D., joined OMI Industries in May 2012 and serves as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), responsible for product quality control and assurance, laboratory testing, formulation development and other related areas. Dr. Haupert manages the R&amp;D Center at OMI’s operations campus in Rising Sun, IN.

Dr. Haupert earned her B.S. in chemistry (biochemistry concentration) from Manchester College, and began her Ph.D. studies in physical chemistry at Purdue University shortly thereafter, working in solvated clusters. Dr. Haupert also completed her post-doctoral research at Purdue.

Chris Haugen is the Director of Sales for the industrial division of OMI Industries. Chris has over 15 years of experience working in various roles that bridge sales, marketing, and technical services, specifically in the polymers and sealants industries.

Haugen holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

As a Wisconsin native, Haugen is a fan of most local sports teams and enjoys playing golf in his spare time. Haugen resides in Barrington, Ill. with his wife, Tameka, and their child.

Stephen Lattis has been involved with OMI for over 25 years. Historically, Steve has been involved with product manufacturing and distribution, new product development and industrial sales. Enjoying working in the field, Steve has recently added International and Domestic Sales to his repertoire. You can find him serving OMI customers from China to across the Midwest.

Prior to joining OMI, Lattis held executive-level positions with companies in the industries of demolition, hazardous waste, and industrial services. He attended the University of Louisville.

Adam Hopkins serves as the Director of Operations for OMI Industries, and has been with the company since 2004. Hopkins is responsible for all manufacturing practices for the company’s consumer, commercial and industrial divisions. He is also involved in continuous improvement projects, development of safety programs and implementation of lean production processes at the Rising Sun facility.

Hopkins is a fan of most sports, and a bit of a movie buff. He and his wife, Samantha, have two children.

Heidi Brown joined OMI Industries as the Director of Strategy and Innovation in October 2017. In this role, she inspires fresh product and operational concepts by leading ideation, consumer trends, and product validation.

Prior to joining OMI, Heidi served in Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s administration. She was initially appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. After a year in that role, she was asked to take over as Director of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. In this position, she oversaw 56 historic sites and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and served as the State Historic Preservation Officer.

Heidi spent almost 15 years working at State Farm’s corporate office in a variety of analytical, operational, and leadership roles in IT, financial services, and client services. Equal parts nerd, neophile, and nomad, you can often find Heidi geeking out over the latest technology, trying out the newest novelty, or hopping on a plane for a quick weekend getaway.

Prior to joining OMI, Joe spent 10+ years in various eCommerce and management roles. His experience includes B2C, marketing, and operations in the fashion and sports industry.

Joe graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a major in Business Management.
