Philip M. Coffey is the managing director and CEO of OMI Industries, Inc., the driving force behind the strategic and tactical efforts across the entire enterprise. Coffey’s early career included a stint as a food broker at Mid Central Foods before he moved on to more technical fields with Sencon (control and sensor manufacturing) and Ransco (climatic testing equipment and facilities manufacturing).
When Coffey started his own consulting business, OMI Industries was one of his first clients, hiring him to assess market viability. The company’s potential for success and profit was extremely promising, and Coffey – in search of a company of his own – started buying distributorships and vendor agreements, which eventually turned into shares and a majority stake in OMI.
Coffey has received numerous professional and trade industry awards and recognitions, including a seat as “Executive in Residence” at the University of Missouri, and an award for entrepreneurial excellence given by The Daily Herald newspaper (suburban Chicago). A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Coffey has three grown children inking professional successes of their own. He lives in Chicago.

As the COO of OMI Industries, Dunklau is responsible for growth and profitability across all three divisions of the company in both domestic and international markets. Dunklau joined OMI in 2006 with prior experience at the In-Store Marketing Institute (1995-2005) in various upper-level capacities, including EVP, CFO and COO. He also spent seven years as VP and GM for STARCON International, handling a variety of business activities for the company.
Dunklau is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business (B.S., Finance, 1984), and received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business in 1994. He served on the board of directors for the Greater Chicago Food Depository from 2001 until 2011, chairing the finance and audit committees, and joined the board of directors for Horizons for Youth in 2014. Dunklau and his wife, Tracy, have two children; they reside in St. Charles, IL.

Thomas J. Kelly has served OMI Industries in the capacity of secretary, treasurer and CFO since 2006. Prior to joining OMI, Kelly spent 13 years with Metal One America, Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi International Corp., where he departed as assistant controller. Kelly’s background in financial management includes time spent with companies such as ServiceMaster LP (manager of financial reporting), U.S. Cellular Corporation (regional accountant, Northeast) and A.C. Nielsen Co. (tax accountant, AP supervisor).
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago (1984) and attained his CPA status in 1987. He is a member of both the Illinois CPA Society and the Society for Human Resource Management. An avid reader and a voracious sports fan, Kelly and his wife of 23 years, Margi, live in Mundelein, IL. They have three children.

Brian McLaughlin is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the industrial division of OMI Industries. McLaughlin has held many management positions in various areas within the OMI ranks since 1993, crossing all Ecosorb products and equipment, including product design, manufacturing, sales and marketing.
McLaughlin studied finance at California State University at Long Beach, and holds certifications from many additional executive courses in sales, marketing and manufacturing techniques. He is also involved with many professional associations and organizations through OMI’s membership with the Water Environment Federation, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), the National Asphalt Pavement Association and others. McLaughlin resides in Houston.

Kevin Coffey is responsible for activities related to building Sales Revenues in the Commercial Division of OMI Industries. These responsibilities include identifying and developing new Commercial Distribution accounts as well as managing the growth of sales revenues in existing Distribution relationships.
Prior to joining OMI Industries, he spent six years as the Executive Vice President of Color Communications, Inc, a multi-national manufacturer of color matching materials for the automotive and paint industries worldwide. Earlier employment experience included 21 years at Sears, Roebuck & Company as Director of Human Resource Manager for the Midwest U.S. Region. In this role he was responsible managing reward an benefit packages for over 100,000 Sears employees.

She has an extensive background in merchandising and retail operations at the store level, having spent 14 years in various leadership roles within the big box retail world of Target and Bed Bath and Beyond prior to joining OMI in 2012. Arenas earned a Bachelor of Business degree in marketing from Western Illinois University.

Prior to joining OMI, Lattis held executive-level positions with companies in the industries of demolition, hazardous waste and industrial services. He attended the University of Louisville.

Laura Haupert, Ph.D., joined OMI Industries in May 2012 and serves as the Director of Research and Development, responsible for product quality control and assurance, laboratory testing, formulation development and other related areas. Dr. Haupert maintains the lab at OMI’s production facility in Rising Sun, IN.
Dr. Haupert earned her B.S. in chemistry (biochemistry concentration) from Manchester College, and began her Ph.D. studies in physical chemistry at Purdue University shortly thereafter, working in solvated clusters. Dr. Haupert also completed her post-doctoral research at Purdue.

Adam Hopkins serves as the Director of Operations for OMI Industries, and has been with the company since 2004. Hopkins is responsible for all manufacturing practices for the company’s consumer, commercial and industrial divisions. He is also involved in continuous improvement projects, development of safety programs and implementation of lean production processes at the Rising Sun facility.
Hopkins is a fan of most sports, and a bit of a movie buff. He and his wife, Samantha, have two children.

Ron Mulford joined OMI Industries in January 2011. He spearheads a team responsible for odor dispersion equipment design and development, end-user system integration, production and quality, regulatory and other related areas, housed at the company’s Rising Sun, IN, facility.
Mulford has an extensive background in product design and the development of industrial machinery and commercial/consumer power tools, including 13 U.S. patents (six utility, seven design). Mulford earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1991.

With experience steeped in building consumer brands (Ace Hardware, McDonald’s, Microsoft) using a variety of marketing disciplines, Adamec also possesses a great deal of knowledge in the financial sector, having spent time in both Marketing Manager and associate Vice President seats for FBR Capital Markets.
Adamec has worked on a variety of award-winning public relations and marketing campaigns in the disciplines of finance and consumer packaged goods. She is a 1991 graduate of The Catholic University of America.

Bryan Tapella is the Director of Marketing and Brand Development at OMI Industries, responsible for creating and policing the identity standards that govern the public-facing products and collateral across all three divisions of the company. Tapella and his team oversee graphic design, tradeshow and event planning and execution, public relations and social media, and other methods of internal and external communications.
Tapella is a boomerang employee, having left for 14 months to pursue a career in the field of architecture and design; prior to his departure in 2015, he led all OMI communications and public relations. After graduating from Bradley University in 2004 (B.S., Public Relations), Tapella worked in a similar capacity for Ace Hardware Corporation, where he met his wife, Teri. They live in Chicago with their furry daughter and their dog.

Audrie Rewerts is the Director of Organizational Development & Human Resources at OMI Industries, responsible for myriad tasks related to the organizational and HR health of the company. She holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from DePaul University and a master’s degree in the same field from Elmhurst College. Prior to joining OMI, Rewerts spent 10 years in retail store management.
Her current career is a hybrid of her formal and practical training from the last 20 years. She enjoys spending time with OMI employees while developing practical solutions to challenging problems. This role gives her access to OMI employees at all levels, making it challenging and rewarding at the same time. Through these relationships, Rewerts is able to make recommendations and implement initiatives that move OMI forward.

Heidi Brown joined OMI Industries as the Director of Strategy and Innovation in October 2017. In this role, she will inspire fresh product and operational concepts by leading ideation, consumer trends and product validation.
Prior to joining OMI, Heidi served in Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s administration. She was initially appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. After a year in that role, she was asked to take over as Director of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. In this position, she oversaw 56 historic sites and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and served as the State Historic Preservation Officer.
Heidi spent almost 15 years – the majority of her career so far – working at State Farm’s corporate office in a variety of analytical, operational and leadership roles in IT, financial services and client services. This diverse trajectory allowed her to realize a passion for organizational leadership, customer experience and innovation.
Equal parts nerd, neophile and nomad, you can often find Heidi geeking out over the latest technology, trying out the newest novelty or hopping on a plane for a quick weekend getaway.
